queer-oh contingency heading to esq rec center (527 Fraser Street, Coast Salish Territories) Tuesday Feburary 17th at 9pm for $2 swim n possible post-swim poutine party (yup, it's veggie gravy but unfortunately gluten free is a special request) swim gear can = shorts & t-shirt/tank or any swimsuit, no cut-offs due to fraying (swimming end time is an estimate; the pool is open until 10:30) swim time 9:00 -10:30 ($2) poutine at la belle patate (1/2 block away) 10:30-?? (small poutine is $5.40 - almost $6 with taxes ... how can we make this more accessible? Tuesday poutine is slightly less when bought in pairs.. very limited menu at this hour) ; note that staff want to shutdown the kitchen by 11; so getting your order in by ~ 10:45 is important ; we sometimes eat our poutine across the street in the park so we can hang out for however long we want ; however the staff have been very good about letting us stay inside past 11 as well while they clean up (especially when it is cooler out such as the fall/winter months) so grab your fave homos and genderbenders and join us bring a quarter for the locker - signs posted about thefts let's support each other in the change rooms, we routely arrange for the family change room to be opened upon request :) We identify the request as being for the unicorn group If you don't feel comfortable to arrive alone either msg Tracy or make a post on the event page and we will find someone to arrive with you :) maybe we wanna buspool or bikepool too? suggested buses to look at 15, 25, 26 busses may be options. there's bike lanes most of the way through esquilmalt Google Calendar for those that want it: 45g3rem6hgdf96iqhli9qk9e8g@group.calendar.google.com Many thanks to Kîwetinohk Kîsik for starting this wonderful event up!! Notes for event organizers: Arrange access to the family change rooms by calling Dana Robertson @ 250-412-8503 ; she appears to work M-F business hours, I tend to call a few days in advance to give them notice without it being too far in advance; also good to call the main reception line in the afternoon / early evening the day of to ensure the memo got to the front staff Bobbie-Joe has also mentioned that poutine at la belle patate officially closes at 11; but sometimes closes earlier if they're having a slow night; if we know that there is going to be large numbers going there after the swim a quick call over to ask them to stay open can be usef
