Hello Again!

This picnic will be a part of a series of [2] run throughout the summer. The intention is to bring together Queers of all ages, families, friends, and allies to enjoy some company under that glorious Sun.
Homospun will be providing some light snacks, a tent, and some fun outside games. If you have food and games to share on the day, wonderful. If not, please do bring your wonderful self!
Stadacona Park is close by the number #2, 27, 28, 4, 11, and 14 bus routes. See the map for the closest route for you. HS will also have bus tickets at the park.
The bathrooms at the park are accessible by wheelchair, but are gender segregated*
*Except for the fact that HS will be taking a note from alt-pride organizers and marking the bathrooms with a 'All Genders Bathroom' sign. This and there will be a volunteer at the bathrooms to answer and support questions about the sign or intention. Thanks alt-pride folks.*
If you have any questions or comments, please let us know in the comments below or by email: homospun@gmail.com
Thank you and hope to see you there!

ABOUT HOMOSPUN:
Homospun Collective Events is a volunteer-run group that regularly puts on inclusive events in Victoria, BC, Coast Salish Territory for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, queer, two-spirit, genderqueer, and questioning communities, as well as our friends, allies, and anyone interested in creating alternative spaces to meet, create, dance, relax, and make friends.
We organize community celebrations, dances, movie nights, craft events, and gatherings of all kinds.
Want to get involved? We’re always eager for new members in our organizing collective! Email us at homospun at gmail.com or simply come to our next meeting.
*** Regarding the previous wording of our mandate (“We strive to create spaces that are non-heterosexist, non-sexist, non-racist, non-homophobic, non-transphobic, and free from bigotry.”), we recognize that this wording is problematic because it is impossible to create such a space as all of these forms of oppression systemically exist; it makes invisible people’s experiences and negates the existence of oppression on a societal level. We plan to readjust our mandate to better reflect the reality of oppression and what we are continually challenging and working towards.
